Catherine's Dream

Welcome.  The Catherine’s Dream Foundation was founded in 2009 to honor and continue the legacy and passions of a courageous young woman.  Catherine Peltzer lost her life on June 10, 2008 at the age of 16 in a tragic off road vehicle accident.

Catherine not only loved life, she embraced it. She was an adored daughter, a loving sister and cousin, a true and loyal friend.  She was fiercely protective and stood up for what she believed in and spoke up when she knew something was wrong.

Catherine loved animals, music, dancing being with her friends and family.  Her passions were acting and singing and had several starring parts in local Theatre Groups.  Catherine wanted to attend Cosmetology College and/or Culinary Arts College after graduating High School. The Catherine’s Dream Foundation provides Theater Art Summer Camp scholarships to Middle School students and Culinary Art and Cosmetology college scholarships to High School students, encouraging deserving young people to fulfill their dreams and passions as Catherine herself wanted to achieve.

We would like to thank you for visiting, and encourage you to explore the website.

A quote from Catherine herself:
“Please be your own person and speak up when you know something is wrong, you could be the voice to change the world.”

We had our 2nd annual “Viva La Cat-Rock the Art’s” on September 19, 2009 the day before Catherine would have been 18. The venue was a park setting in Escondido near the community of Valley Center where Catherine attended school.  Our plans are to continue the annual fundraiser to held on the Saturday that is closest to Catherine’s birthday, because the primary purpose is to honor Catherine’s life and memory , with hope’s to send a few kid’s to theater art’s  camp and a couple to the trade school’s that Catherine herself wanted to attend.

The people who apart of Catherine’s Dream are all loving volunteer’s who generously donate their time to the cause. We have three board members who meet once a month and discuss idea’s and concept’s for the fundraiser and the scholarships.  Starting in July we meet with all Volunteer’s bi-weekly.  Minutes are read and attendance is taken.  All team leaders discuss their progress in making the upcoming fundraiser a success for all.

We have set up information booths at the Valley Center Middle and High School registration to get the word out about the scholarships and the annual fundraiser.  We have a website www.catherinesdream.org; we distribute flyers, posters, and newspaper and magazine articles.  We have information booths at other local fundraising events to get the word out.
