The Catherine’s Dream Foundation was established in March of 2009 in honor of Catherine Irene Peltzer who lost her life on June 10th 2008, in tragic off road accident, at the age of 16.
On October 12th 2008 Catherine was honored in the first annual “Viva La CAT-Rock the Arts” fundraiser. With extreme generosity of the community, family, and friends, the fundraiser was a great success. With the money raised, 100% of the proceeds were donated through a scholarship fund system to the school district Catherine had attended in Valley Center.
On September 19th, 2009, the 2nd annual “Viva La CAT-Rock the Arts” fundraiser was held, 1 day before Catherine’s official 18th birthday.
The Catherine’s Dream Foundation aims to continue the annual fundraiser held on the Saturday that is closest to Catherine’s birthday, because the primary purpose is to honor Catherine’s life and memory. With that purpose in mind, our foundation’s goal is to provide scholarships to underprivileged children so they may have the opportunity to attend theater arts camps and trade schools similar to what Catherine herself wanted to attend.
